Pauline Lamb was Martin Ellingham's secretary from series 2-4. She had a romantic interest in Al Large at one point. Because of Martin's haemophobia (the fear of blood), Pauline is not only a secretary, but did a course on Phlebotomy (drawing and testing blood). In series 3 we find out that Paulline has a gambling problem, when she put her mother in debt, then Martin relives her of her duty. Pauline wanted to become a nurse and to her, the current job was boring. During the wedding of Martin Ellingham and Louisa Glasson, Pauline wanted to become a brides maid but it was over because they both didn't think that it was the right time.
